What is an Upgrade Item in Genshin Impact?
Upgrade items are special items that assist certain Pokemon evolve. They are made available by spinning Pokestop photo discs, and sometimes as rewards during events associated with evolution.
They can be incorporated into weapons, armors, trinkets and gathering tools in order to add additional stats or effects. Certain upgrades have a cosmetic effect.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons, armors and weapons to provide an extra effect or unique feature when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, looted, earned as rewards, crafted or dropped. Upgrade components must be of a higher quality than the item they are being added to, and they also require that the item have an upgrade slot in order to accept them. Upgrade components can be swapped out with other upgrade components except for inscriptions or glyphs, which can be removed or added.
Gems, infusions and enrichments are the most frequently used upgrade components. Gems can be added to any type of equipment and offer less benefit than other upgrade components. They can give a range of bonus effects that can be used to increase the gather speed or adding additional materials. Inscriptions can be used to alter the name of an object. For instance, a sword could become a 'Fiery Sword,' by adding a sword pommel of fortitude, or a Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor, by adding Rune of Minor Vigor.
Glyphs
Glyphs represent an idea or idea through character symbols. A glyph could be an icon or a drawing, such as an eagle or heart. These symbols can also be used to create an entire visual language. A glyph may also have a standard code that is used by all fonts to refer to it. This code is called a Unicode.
A glyph is a shape that determines which Primary Stats it can be added to and which Secondary Stats it is able to add. The glyphs will be displayed in order based on their Unicode code. You can select the one you wish to insert.
When you create the glyph set for the first time, it is saved along with other InDesign preferences in a file that can be shared. The glyphs do not belong to any particular document and can be edited by selecting Edit Glyphs Set from the Glyphs Panel menu. You can also decide if the glyphs will remember their fonts when you insert them into text.
You should begin farming rare glyphs as soon as you can. They are available in World Tier 3 Dungeons as well as Nightmare Dungeons and Helltides. They are much easier to find than the rare shards you can earn through crafting items and offer a better upgrade for your gear. They can also be used on various items, allowing you to increase the damage and defense of your gear without having to spend a lot of shards.
Rerolling

To reroll an item the player must first unlock its upgrade component. To unlock this simply press the box icon to open the window of the item on the main screen. The player can then choose up to six items to be used for "recycling". The item will receive a new upgrade component of a random rarity, level and stat.
The player has to pay an additional fee once the item has been rerolled. The cost is increased with the rarity of the new upgrade component and the item's level. The player must then repeat the process to unlock additional upgrades.
Before submitting the patch, it's important to test it locally. This will help you identify any conflicts that require resolution. If the patch doesn't have any conflicts, it can be merged into the upstream branch. The patch should then be added to an issue. It is also beneficial to show a clear difference that will make it easy for other developers review the patch.
